原本是由四個Uvic (University of Victoria)的學生組成的, 畢業後團員分散於各地 (台灣, 香港, 加拿大)為了各自的生活奮鬥. 2003年主唱 Yi-Ching 與團員 David, Josh 終於完成夢想,錄製了第一張專輯, 從此後Rice Magnet開始在台灣,香港兩地不定期的演唱.Rice Magnet不把生活中的不滿發洩在音樂裡面, 也不想要把音樂當成謀生的工具, 做音樂純粹是因為喜歡音樂. 樂風由於近幾年比較常接觸木吉他, 比較偏向民謠風格. Yi-Ching 與鼓手 James Wu 將帶給你相當感性的一個晚上. 上面團名的連結可以讓你先品嘗一下Rice Magnet 的風格. RICEMAGNET was formed in 1999 in Canada and is presently based in Hong Kong and Taipei. Crossing continents, the band's sound has been accordingly influenced by a range of alternative/indie/rock artists, with the resulting sound a blend of Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Wu Bai & China Blue.

Chris Huskey is a 17-year old singer/songwriter who was born in Washington, D.C., but has grown up around the world -- in Taiwan, India, Kenya, and China. He recently released his debut solo album Soldiers, Girls, and Nightmares with the help of Taiwanese band 輕鬆玩 (Relax-One), MusicFree, and HotRank Entertainment Corp. The album, a collection of Pop/Rock John Mayer/Dashboard Confessional-like songs, can be found in stores around Taiwan and the U.S., as well as on most digital music services. This 17-Year Old from Washington, DC has been working his way around the Taipei area with his John Mayer influenced Pop/Rock style. To Neraew is the solo acoustic project of guitarist/singer Sahil Mehrotra. Eliana has been playing the alphorn since the age of six. As a temperamental young lady she abandoned the folkloric costumes and the traditional melodies and turned to trendy outfits and modern latino, blues and jazz rhythms. As unusual it may seem, the combination of alphorn, jazz, pop, soul and funk works perfectly with her style. Thanks for the support of the TRADE OFFICE OF SWISS INDUSTRIE here in Taipei, Eliana will be giving her very first performance in Taiwan at the Living Room. Please come and enjoy her unique sound. THE ALPHORN is a massive horn carved from solid softwood, generally spruce but sometimes pine. It is typically used in a pastoral setting. With only 16 available notes spread over 5 octaves, this makes playing a simple melody quite a challenge, let alone improvising over the changes to a jazz standard. All the notes are generate by changes in the mouth of the player and diaphragm – utterly amazing.
24歲的Eliana是最著名也最受歡迎的阿爾卑斯長號音樂家之一，出生於醫生世家，Eliana六歲即立志學習阿爾卑斯長號(Alphorn)，九歲起便開始舉辦音樂會，十二歲時已贏遍各大小型的傳統音樂獎項，甚至還曾跟隨著世界盃足球賽一同巡演。Eliana在演出時經常身著傳統服裝吹奏阿爾卑斯短長號，演奏曲目由傳統的長號作品到爵士、放克、藍調、靈魂和搖滾。感謝瑞士貿易辦公室的贊助，Eliana將把她台灣的處女秀獻給了小客廳，一起來感受Eliana變化無窮的表演風格吧。 關於瑞士的阿爾卑斯長號 The Swiss Alphorn 長達4公尺的阿爾卑斯長號通常出現於連綿起伏的瑞士阿爾卑斯山脈中，由木頭組合或挖空而成，表層再裹以樺樹皮；最早起源於因為高山交通不便，牧民和村民就利用渾厚悠遠的號角聲相互聯繫。原本只有16個音符的樂器，卻能呈現出跳躍五個音階的各式音樂，讓Eliana Burki的瑞士長號演出更顯可貴。 Time: 9:00pm - 11:00am Thur 10/11: 晚餐魔術秀Magic

David Foster was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1979, and showed a natural love for music at a very young age. He began formal music training in piano and guitar at the age of 8, and by the time he had finished his studies in economics at the University of Stellenbosch, he had been active in many youth choirs and earned starring roles in musical productions of "The Sound of Music," "Grease" and "My Fair Lady," as well as playing blues and rock 'n roll in the most popular music venues in the Western Cape province of South Africa. David Foster has grown a loyal fan base in South Africa since recording his brilliant first album, Flat to Round and releasing it a little more than 2 years ago. Two tracks from the album are at present playlisted on Taiwan's own ICRT fm100 as well as more than ten stations in his native South Africa. He is a polished songsmith, an honest lyricist and an enthralling and passionate performer.
