原本是由四個Uvic (University of Victoria)的學生組成的, 畢業後團員分散於各地 (台灣, 香港, 加拿大)為了各自的生活奮鬥. 2003年主唱 Yi-Ching 與團員 David, Josh 終於完成夢想,錄製了第一張專輯, 從此後Rice Magnet開始在台灣,香港兩地不定期的演唱.Rice Magnet不把生活中的不滿發洩在音樂裡面, 也不想要把音樂當成謀生的工具, 做音樂純粹是因為喜歡音樂. 樂風由於近幾年比較常接觸木吉他, 比較偏向民謠風格. Yi-Ching 與鼓手 James Wu 將帶給你相當感性的一個晚上. 上面團名的連結可以讓你先品嘗一下Rice Magnet 的風格. RICEMAGNET was formed in 1999 in Canada and is presently based in Hong Kong and Taipei. Crossing continents, the band's sound has been accordingly influenced by a range of alternative/indie/rock artists, with the resulting sound a blend of Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Wu Bai & China Blue.

She has studied at the Amor de Dios studios in Spain with internationally reknowned dancers, Merche Esmeralda, Domingo Ortega and Carmella Greco. She will be accompanied by guitarist Giles "El Gamba" lived, worked, and studied in Sevilla, Andalucia for fifteen years with masters Juan del Gastor, Julio Rodriguez and Jose Acedo.
